Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

De wijnadviseur van Tapiz is de beroemde Jean-Claude Berrouet, die eerder wijn maakte op Chateau Petrus in Bordeaux en Dominus in Napa Valley, twee van 's werelds meest gerespecteerde wijnhuizen. Tapiz heeft zich de afgelopen jaren ontpopt als Argentinië's meest high-tech wijnhuis dankzij hun toewijding aan onderzoek en ontwikkeling in samenwerking met lokale organisaties zoals de Universiteit van Cuyo.

    Deze weelderige Cabernet maakt deel uit van Tapiz's Alta Collection wijnen, die fruit gebruiken van het Finca San Pablo landgoed in Mendoza's Uco Valley in de uitlopers van de Andes. De omstandigheden hier zijn ideaal voor het maken van intens smakende rode wijnen dankzij de 1400 meter hoogte en de verkoelende bries uit de nabijgelegen bergen. De koelere nachten zelfs tijdens de hete zomers helpen om de zuurgraad in de druiven te behouden en een lange, langzame rijpingsperiode die hun smaken en aroma's intensiveert.

    Zwartebessenjam, cassis en bakkruiden bepalen de neus van deze krachtige Cabernet, terwijl het gehemelte goed afgeronde tannines, een soepele textuur en een volle body biedt. De afdronk is lang en schoon met hints van kaneel, kruidnagel en vanille van de rijping in eikenhouten vaten. Het pittige smaakprofiel maakt dit een geweldige match voor rood vlees, waaronder biefstuk, gegrild vlees en stoofschotels van rundvlees.
