    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Laat de wijn 15 jaar of langer rijpen. Maximaal een uur decanteren voor het serveren.

    Opgericht in 1997 door een trio van getalenteerde wijnmakers, produceert Vilafonté wijnmakerij een aantal van de hoogste kwaliteit wijnen van Zuid-Afrika. Het is gelegen in de Simonsberg Mountains, een appellation met een bonafide claim to fame. De oudste grond ter wereld is hier te vinden, die een eeuwenoude basis vormt voor geweldige wijnstokken.

    Vilafonté druiven komen uitsluitend van wijngaarden die eigendom zijn van het wijnhuis. Vroeg in het bestaan van het wijnhuis realiseerde wijnmaker Zelma Long zich dat hun wijngaarden twee verschillende stijlen Bordeaux blend voortbrachten - de eerste was groot en krachtig, wat leidde tot de Serie M. De tweede was zachter, sappig en goed afgerond - dit is de Serie C.

    Serie C is een speelse blend, een mix van Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec en Cabernet Franc. Hoewel hij droog en vol is, toont hij duidelijke hints van zoetheid in zijn profiel. De neus zit vol met donker fruit, cassis, zwarte kersen en pruimen. Een mondcontact onthult vergelijkbaar fruit, met diepere tonen van cederhout, zoethout en een groen botanisch randje. De wijn rijpte bijna twee jaar in Franse eikenhouten barriques en heeft voldoende tijd om zich in de fles verder te ontwikkelen. Serie C zal geweldig gezelschap zijn voor zeldzame vogels, zoals eend, of rijke gerechten op basis van tomaten.
