Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Geschiedenis

    De familie Antinori maakt al meer dan 26 generaties lang wijn in Toscane sinds Giovanni di Piero Antinori in 1385 lid werd van het Florentijnse wijnmakersgilde. Tegenwoordig maken zij verbluffende wijnen op verschillende landgoederen in Toscane en in topwijngebieden in Californië, Chili, Hongarije en Malta. Tenuta Guado al Tasso is hun domein dat op een toplocatie ligt in de prestigieuze Bolgheri DOC aan de Toscaanse kust.

    De nabijheid van de wijngaarden tot de zee zorgt voor een mild klimaat met verkoelende briesjes tijdens de hete zomermaanden en de goed drainerende alluviale bodem zorgt ervoor dat de wijnstokken diep moeten graven om bij de waterbronnen te komen. De Antinori wijnstokken zijn ook geplant aan de voet van het Bolgheri Amfitheater, een prachtige vlakte omgeven door glooiende heuvels, wat een uniek microklimaat creëert dat een langzame rijping en de ontwikkeling van een intens, complex smaakprofiel in de druiven bevordert.
