A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Ontstaan in Marsannay, net ten zuiden van de Bourgogne hoofdstad Dijon, in 1972 door Charles Audoin en zijn vrouw Marie-Françoise, beslaat het Charles Audoin landgoed nu zo'n 14 hectare wijngaarden die enkele van de mooiste percelen in de Marsannay appellatie omvatten. Het domein, dat nu wordt beheerd door Charles' zoon Cyril, produceert Bourgogne-wijnen met een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding die goed tot uiting komen als ze jong zijn, maar ook elegant evolueren na verloop van tijd.

    De Pinot Noir druiven worden zorgvuldig geselecteerd uit wijnstokken van ongeveer 40 jaar oud. Na de oogst vindt de vinificatie en rijping plaats zonder gebruik van nieuw eikenhout, om de volledige fruitexpressie van de Pinot Noir mogelijk te maken.

    Het resultaat is een goed gestructureerde en karaktervolle wijn die uitblinkt in zijn regionale appellation typiciteit en doet denken aan wijnen van meer prestigieuze appellations. Het is een elegante wijn met een heldere robijnrode kleur en een delicaat fruitig aromatisch profiel met tonen van kersen en pruimen en wat lichte hints van kruiden en kreupelhout. In de mond is hij fris en levendig met fijne en goed geïntegreerde tannines en een aanhoudende afdronk. Uitstekend bij konijn, kipfilet met champignons, geroosterde varkensham of crostini van kippenlever.
    Toevoegen om te vergelijken
    Het domein produceert Bourgogne-wijnen met een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding die goed tot uiting komen wanneer ze jong zijn, maar ook elegant evolueren na verloop van tijd. De Pinot Noir druiven worden zorgvuldig geselecteerd uit wijnstokken van ongeveer 40 jaar oud.
