    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Een van de topnamen in Ribera del Duero vandaag de dag, Emilio Moro maakt intense, fruitige rode wijnen van de klassieke Tempranillo druif uit de regio sinds de jaren 1970. Het landgoed is nu in handen van de derde generatie van de familie Moro, vertegenwoordigd door José en Javier Moro samen met hun vader, Emilio, die 5 hectare wijngaarden bewerken die door hun grootvader in Pesquera de Duero zijn aangeplant.

    De Emilio Moro Malleolus ontleent zijn naam aan het Latijnse woord dat "kleine wijngaard" betekent. De wijn wordt gemaakt van 100% Tinto Fino, zoals de Tempranillo druif plaatselijk bekend staat in Ribera del Duero, die wordt geoogst van kleine percelen die 25-75 jaar geleden zijn aangeplant. Het intense continentale klimaat hier in de Ribera del Duero zorgt ervoor dat de druiven intens van smaak zijn, maar toch in balans met frisheid en zachte tannines.

    De focus op kleine wijngaardpercelen zorgt voor een kenmerkende zuiverheid van het fruit, die wordt versterkt door een lange maceratieperiode van 28 dagen om de volledige diepte van de smaak uit de druivenschillen te halen. De jonge wijn rijpt vervolgens 18 maanden in Franse eiken vaten om de verschillende componenten te integreren en heerlijke geroosterde en kruidige toetsen toe te voegen aan de donkere fruitsmaken.
