    La Spinetta is een van de iconische wijnhuizen van Piemonte dankzij het harde werk van Giuseppe Rivetti die in 1977 het oorspronkelijke wijnhuis in Castagnole Lanze oprichtte. Giuseppe werd geïnspireerd om het eigen wijnhuis van de familie op te richten als een eerbetoon aan zijn grootvader, Giovanni, die naar Argentinië emigreerde om fortuin te maken en ervan droomde om op een dag naar huis terug te keren om wijn te maken.

    La Spinetta ligt in het hart van de regio Moscato d'Asti, die in de jaren zeventig vooral bekend stond om zijn dessertwijnen. Giuseppe's zoon Giorgio herkende het potentieel van de regio om rode wijnen van topkwaliteit te maken van de lokale Barbera en Nebbiolo druiven die de iconische wijnen van het landgoed zijn geworden. Il Nero di Casanova wordt gemaakt van 100% Sangiovese afkomstig van het Casanova landgoed in Toscane en rijpt 9 maanden in Franse eiken vaten voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    In de neus domineren geurige tonen van rijpe rode bessen, koffiebonen, munt en vanille, terwijl de eerste slok een zijdezachte aanzet geeft, een volle body en een lange afdronk met kruiden en weelderige fruitsmaken. Geniet naast klassieke Toscaanse gerechten zoals pappardelle pasta geserveerd met een rijke wild zwijn ragu of een stevige ribollita stoofpot.
