A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Laat 25 jaar of langer in de koelkast staan. 2 uur of langer decanteren voor het serveren.

    Een geurige neus van rode en zwarte kersen, gedroogde tabak, ijzerrijke grond, sinaasappelschil en gemalen steen begroet u vanaf het begin. De Sangiovese druiven werden geoogst van het Ugolaia perceel, een magische wijngaard die groeit op rode bodems, ongeveer 300 meter boven zeeniveau in het zuidwesten van de Montalcino appellatie.

    Lisini is een van de weinige families die Brunello maken in deze regio van Montalcino. De villa ligt in het kleine stadje Sant'Angelo in Colle, en is gebouwd in de oude Toscaanse stijl van steen en terracotta - een weerspiegeling van de rustieke, traditionele stijl van de wijnen van de familie. Vandaag de dag wordt het bedrijf geleid door twee broers, Carlo en Lorenzo Lisini, met hulp van hun nicht, Ludovica.

    In de mond is Ugolaia een tactiele, volle rode wijn. Hij wordt gedomineerd door smaken van fruit en aarde - zoek naar wilde framboos, cassis en braam, verweven met leer, pure chocolade en rook. De tannines zijn fijnkorrelig en fluweelzacht, waardoor dit een wijn is die jong gedronken kan worden of enige tijd in een kelder kan worden bewaard. De wijn rijpte vier jaar in Slavonisch eikenhout en nog wat langer in de fles voordat hij werd vrijgegeven. Hij is perfect om te combineren met tomatensauzen, biefstuk of belegen kaas.
