Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Nickel & Nickel Winery werd in 1997 opgericht door Gil Nickel en is gevestigd in Oakville, in het hart van Napa Valley. Het bedrijf concentreert zijn productie op monovarietal wijnen afkomstig van verschillende wijngaarden in het gebied, die de grote diversiteit in samenstelling van de terroirs die typisch zijn voor Napa het beste uitdrukken. Nickel & Nickel Winery is met name beroemd om zijn uitzonderlijke Cabernet Sauvignons (het produceert minstens 15 verschillende) van enkele wijngaarden.

    De Cabernet Sauvignon druiven voor deze wijn komen van de Sullenger wijngaard, genoemd naar de oprichter van de boerderij, John C. Sullenger, die de wijngaard in 1880 aanlegde. De wijngaard, aangeplant op kleiachtige bodem, strekt zich uit over 30 hectare, waar verschillende klonen Cabernet Sauvignon worden verbouwd om een wijn met een geweldige balans te garanderen, waarbij elke kloon essentiële kenmerken toevoegt aan de uiteindelijke wijn.

    Nickel & Nickel John C. Sullenger Cabernet Sauvignon is een krachtige en complexe wijn met een intens aromatisch profiel en tonen van rood en donker fruit zoals pruimen en cassis, bosbessen en bramen, gevolgd door aardse tonen, zoete specerijen en salie. In de mond heeft hij een volle body en een zijdezachte textuur. Hij is geconcentreerd en vol van smaak, rond en rijk. De afdronk is lang en doet denken aan delicate tonen van bakkruiden. Perfect bij borststuk en spareribs.
