Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Oxer Wines is in 2009 opgericht door Oxer Bastegieta en is gevestigd in Laguardia in Rioja. Het bedrijf bezit ongeveer 5 hectare eeuwenoude wijngaarden in de gemeenten Elvillar en Cárdenas, die biologisch worden verbouwd met het grootste respect voor het milieu en het terroir, om expressieve wijnen met een lange levensduur te produceren.

    De wijn is een blend van Tempranillo, afkomstig van oude wijnstokken, met toevoegingen van Graciano en Viura die met de hand zijn geselecteerd en geoogst. De gisting gebeurt spontaan met inheemse gisten in foudres, en de afgewerkte wijn laat men 12 maanden rusten in gebruikte Franse eiken vaten. De naam Ahari verwijst naar een Baskische mythologische figuur, een elf die het leuk vindt om kinderen bang te maken.

    Ahari heeft een mooie en heldere kersentint. Het aromatische profiel is fris en geurig met delicate tonen van viooltjes en rijp rood fruit, hints van gedroogde kruiden, leer en zoete specerijen. In de mond is hij fris en levendig, met fijne en goed geïntegreerde tannines. Het is een elegante en geconcentreerde wijn met een lange afdronk met aangename hints van fruit en specerijen. Probeer hem bij gebraden lamsvlees of parelhoen met kruiden, of laat hem nog een paar jaar in de kelder staan.
