    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Oxer Wines is het wijnhuis van Oxer Bastegieta die, na jaren in het familiebedrijf in Kortezubi te hebben gewerkt waar Txakoli werd geproduceerd, naar Rioja verhuisde en zijn eigen bedrijf in Laguardia oprichtte.

    Kalamity wordt in beperkte hoeveelheden geproduceerd en is een rode wijn gemaakt van een blend van Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura en Garnacha Blanca, afkomstig van twee wijngaarden die tussen 580 en 600 meter boven zeeniveau liggen, één in Rioja Alta, aangeplant in 1903, op ijzerrijke kleigrond, en de andere in Rioja Alavesa, met honderdjarige wijnstokken, aangeplant op klei-kalkgrond. Na de oogst worden de druiven apart gevinifieerd met inheemse gisten en rijpen ze 12 maanden in Franse eiken vaten voordat ze worden gemengd. De naam en het etiket van de wijn zijn geïnspireerd op Shakespeare.

    De wijn heeft een briljante robijnrode kleur en een complex en geurig aromatisch profiel met tonen van rijpe bessen en bloemenaroma's, gevolgd door kruidige en kruidige hints. In de mond is hij elegant, jong en levendig maar goed in balans. Hij heeft een sterke minerale toets en een goed uitgebalanceerde zuurgraad. De afdronk is lang en doet denken aan fruitige tonen. Hij is klaar om nu te drinken in combinatie met geroosterd varkensvlees of lamsvlees, maar hij kan ook nog een tijdje in de kelder blijven en mooi evolueren.

    Geproduceerd in beperkte hoeveelheden, is Kalamity een rode wijn gemaakt van een blend van Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura, en Garnacha Blanca, afkomstig van twee wijngaarden gelegen tussen 580 en 600 meter boven de zeespiegel, een in Rioja Alta, geplant in 1903, op grond rijk aan ijzer, en de andere in Rioja Alavesa, met honderdjarige wijnstokken, geplant op klei-kalksteen bodem.
