Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Drink hem nu of bewaar hem tot 10 jaar in een kelder. Decanteren is niet nodig, maar u kunt hem het beste een half uur voor het serveren openen.

    Gelegen in het zuiden van Toscane, aan de zuidoostelijke kant van de Montalcino heuvel, werd het wijnhuis Poggio di Sotto opgericht in 1989 en maakt vandaag deel uit van de Colle Massari groep. Van de 16 hectare wijngaard produceert het bedrijf druiven van hoge kwaliteit voor de prestigieuze Rosso en Brunello di Montalcino wijnen.

    De Rosso di Montalcino van het wijnhuis Poggio di Sotto wordt gemaakt van 100% Sangiovese druiven afkomstig van landgoedwijngaarden die tussen 200 en 450 meter boven zeeniveau liggen op bodems die rijk zijn aan skelet. Na de oogst worden de druiven gefermenteerd volgens traditionele processen. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt vervolgens 24 maanden in Slavonische eikenhouten vaten en blijft daarna nog 6 maanden in de fles, zoals vereist door de specificaties voor deze benaming.

    Het is een heldere rode wijn met robijnrode tinten. Het aromaprofiel is fris en fruitig, met aroma's van verse bessen (frambozen en aalbessen), aromatische kruiden en wat hints van kruiden en gedroogde bloemen. In de mond is hij levendig en goed gestructureerd met een zachte body en een hartige toets. De afdronk is lang en aangenaam. Deze wijn past goed bij rood vlees en kazen van gemiddelde leeftijd.
