Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    De Cantina Sociale Produttori del Barbaresco werd opgericht in 1958 en bezit ongeveer 100 hectare wijngaarden, waaronder enkele van de meest prestigieuze crus van de denominatie. Vandaag de dag bestaat de coöperatie uit ongeveer 52 leden en wordt beschouwd als een van de meest prestigieuze wijnhuizen in de regio.

    De Barbaresco Riserva Asili wordt uitsluitend gemaakt met Nebbiolo druiven uit de Asili Cru, een van de beroemdste in het Barbaresco subgebied in Piemonte. Hier genieten de wijngaarden van een klei-kalksteen bodem met wat zanderige sporen en een zuidwestelijke ligging die de perfecte rijping van de druiven bevordert. Na de gisting in staal blijft de afgewerkte wijn 36 maanden in eikenhouten vaten en vervolgens 9 maanden in de fles voordat hij op de markt komt.

    De wijn heeft een heldere en briljante kleur met robijnrode tinten en granaatkleurige reflecties. Het aromaprofiel is breed en complex met geurige tonen van rode bessen, kruidnagel, leer en balsamico. In de mond is hij intens en verfijnd. Hij onthult een goede complexiteit en een volle body. De tannines zijn stevig maar goed geïntegreerd. De afdronk is lang en aanhoudend en onthult tonen van rijp fruit en kreupelhout. De wijn kan nu gedronken worden, in combinatie met rood vlees of wild, maar kan ook nog enkele jaren in de kelder bewaard worden.
