    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De familie van Stan Standish woont en werkt al zes generaties lang in de Barossa Valley. Het was dus logisch dat hij hier in 1999 zijn eigen wijnmakerij wilde oprichten terwijl hij werkte als wijnmaker voor het bekende Torbreck landgoed. Geïnspireerd door zijn eerdere werk in de Franse Rhônevallei, begon Dan het project met een oud perceel Shiraz-wijnstokken dat door zijn vader was bewerkt.

    Dan's prachtige wijnen vangen vakkundig de schoonheid van het lokale Barossa terroir en de verfijnde Oude Wereld aanpak van wijnmaken. Zijn specialiteit is Shiraz, zoals deze uitzonderlijke botteling die wordt gemaakt van speciaal geselecteerde percelen en gefermenteerd met wilde gisten. De jonge wijn rijpt 32 maanden in gebruikte eiken vaten voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    Barsten met rijpe cassis, frambozen en bramen samen met ondertonen van zoethout en gedroogde kruiden, is deze pittige rode wijn een geweldige partner voor rood vlees gerechten zoals een T-bone steak, gebraden lam, of een stevige rundvlees stoofpot. Hij kan ook nog een paar jaar in de kelder worden bewaard dankzij de robuuste volle body, stevige tannines en intense smaken van donker fruit.
