A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    De Paring wijncollectie wordt geproduceerd door het wijnmakersteam van Jonata en The Hill Estate met druiven geselecteerd van verschillende wijngaarden van het bedrijf gelegen in de Santa Ynez Valley, Sta. Rita Hills en Santa Maria Valley, waar de wijnstokken genieten van de warme Californische zon en de verfrissende zeebries. Deze wijnen, geproduceerd dankzij zorgvuldige experimenten met de verschillende locaties en druivenrassen, worden gekenmerkt door een grote veelzijdigheid en levendigheid en door een perfecte balans tussen intensiteit en dichtheid.

    Deze verfijnde rode blend bestaat uit geselecteerde trossen Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot en Petit Verdot. De blended wijn rijpt 22 maanden in Frans eiken.

    De Paring Red is een elegante en krachtige wijn die al het karakter van Cabernet Sauvignon uitstraalt met klassieke tonen van moerbei, cassis, chocolade en hints van tabak. In de mond is de wijn harmonieus en geconcentreerd met een heldere zuurgraad en stevige, goed geïntegreerde tannines. De afdronk is ongelooflijk lang en herinnert aan fruitige tonen. Het is de ideale wijn voor bij de barbecue en past heel goed bij alle rode vleessoorten, maar hij kan ook een paar jaar in de kelder rijpen.
