Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het landgoed Tiko is een jong en klein wijnhuis dat is opgericht door de twee broers Chychynadze in Kakheti, een van de oudste en meest prestigieuze wijngebieden in Georgië. Het bedrijf, dat traditionele wijnen van inheemse druivensoorten produceert, wordt beschouwd als een van de meest veelbelovende van het land. De naam Tiko is een eerbetoon aan de moeder van Levan en Georgi Chychynadze en verwijst in feite naar haar bijnaam.

    Saperavi druiven worden geselecteerd in de wijngaarden van de Kakheti regio op alluviale bodems die rijk zijn aan steen en klei. Voor en na de gisting laat men de druiven macereren bij lage temperaturen om het geurige karakter van de wijn te behouden en een langzame en volledige extractie van de aroma's te garanderen. De afgewerkte wijn rust vervolgens 6-12 maanden in Frans eiken, voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    De wijn heeft een dichte en diepe donkerrode kleur. Het aromatische profiel is geurig en intens met aroma's van klein donker fruit en pruimen, gevolgd door hints van geroosterd eikenhout. In de mond heeft de wijn een vol karakter en intense bessensmaken. De tannines zijn stevig maar zacht en goed geïntegreerd en de afdronk is lang, sappig en fruitig. Drink hem bij gegrild rood vlees.
