    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Rosso di Montalcino krijgt vaak de bijnaam "baby Brunello" vanwege de gelijkenis met zijn grotere broer, Brunello di Montalcino, en deze botteling van Canalicchio di Sopra is een uitzonderlijk voorbeeld van de stijl. De druiven voor deze wijn zijn voornamelijk afkomstig van de uitstekende Sangiovese wijnstokken van de familie Ripaccioli, die op kleigrond staan aangeplant in hun Canalicchio wijngaarden.

    Deze jongere wijnstokken helpen om een wijn te produceren die uitbundig en fris is met een overvloed aan rijp rood fruit en zachte tannines. De wijn is gerijpt in grote traditionele eiken vaten en Franse eiken vaten van standaard formaat om een subtiel gekruid karakter en een goed afgeronde, zijdezachte textuur toe te voegen. Levendig en elegant, is dit een ideale wijn om te serveren bij gebakken tonijn steaks, verse pasta met een rijke ragu. of zelfs een lichte zomer salade van tomaat, mozzarella en veel basilicum.

    Gelegen in het hart van de Brunello di Montalcino appellatie, werd Canalicchio di Sopra opgericht door Primo Pacenti in 1962. Het landgoed is nog steeds eigendom van de oorspronkelijke familie en wordt momenteel gerund door zijn drie kleinkinderen, Simonetta, Marco en Francesco, die Primo's ongelooflijke passie voor wijnmaken hebben geërfd.
