Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Lafon-Rochet is een fijne Bordeaux wijn met een levendige robijnrode kleur in het glas. In de neus ontdekt u aroma's van rode en paarse bloemen, cassis, rijke bloedsinaasappel en grafiet-mineraliteit. Het is een meerderheid Cabernet Sauvignon blend, met 26% Merlot, en 4% Cabernet Franc en Petit Verdot, allemaal geoogst op de linkeroever van de Gironde, in de regio Saint-Èstephe.

    Chateau Lafon-Rochet heeft een geschiedenis die teruggaat tot de 16e eeuw, waardoor het een van de oudste landgoederen in Saint-Èstephe is. Sinds de jaren 1960 is het een familiebedrijf: eerst was het eigendom van de familie Tesseron, die het chateau opknapte en twee nieuwe kelders bouwde; in 2021 werd het gekocht door de familie Lorenzetti, die sindsdien de touwtjes in handen heeft.

    Deze Bordeaux blend treft het gehemelte met een mengeling van zwart en blauw fruit - zure kers, zwarte bes, cacao en bakkruid vermengen zich met scherpere hints van eucalyptus en zoethout. De tannines zijn fijnkorrelig en na 16 maanden rijping in 50% nieuwe vaten is het eikenhout subtiel en goed geïntegreerd. Dit is een uitstekende wijn om te combineren met ossobucco, gebraden kip of paddenstoelen.
