    De legendarische Rodney Strong was oorspronkelijk een danser voordat hij zijn carrière achter zich liet om wijn te maken in Sonoma County. Hij stichtte het domein in 1959 en speelde een belangrijke rol in de begindagen van de Chalk Hill, Russian River Valley en Alexander Valley appellations die vandaag de dag beroemd zijn om hun productie van enkele van de beste wijnen van het graafschap. In 1989 nam de familie Klein het beheer van het domein over en tot op de dag van vandaag wordt het nog steeds door de familie gerund. De Kleins hebben de wijnmaakfaciliteiten grondig gemoderniseerd en zijn gepassioneerd over duurzame landbouwpraktijken.

    Hun sublieme Pinot Noir wordt gemaakt van topkwaliteit fruit uit de Russian River Valley. Hier helpt het koelere klimaat om veel frisheid en elegantie te behouden, wat het perfecte tegenwicht vormt voor het zachte, rijke donkere fruitkarakter.

    In de neus zijn er intense tonen van donkere pruimen, zwarte kersen en frambozen, terwijl het gehemelte een zachte aanzet, zachte tannines en een medium body biedt, samen met donkere bessen en aardse toetsen. Dit is de ideale partner voor eendgerechten zoals pekingeend of geroosterde wortelgroenteschotels, gebakken zalm en paddenstoelenrisotto's.
