    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    In de neus van deze topklasse Toscaanse wijn komen geuren van zwarte bessen, kersen, balsamico en mediterraan groen naar voren. Hij komt uit de jonge maar prestigieuze regio Bolgheri, die tussen de uitlopers van de Colline Metallifere en de Tyrreense Zee ligt.

    Het landgoed Grattamacco is een pionier in de regio Bolgheri. Het werd opgericht in 1977 en was het eerste wijnhuis dat Vermentino aanplantte in de winderige heuvels van de regio. Het landgoed is echter bekender om zijn gedurfde rode wijnen, die consequent de grenzen testen van hoe fantastisch Toscaanse wijn kan zijn. Sinds 2016 maakt Grattamacco deel uit van de ColleMassari groep, samen met andere gewaardeerde Toscaanse namen, zoals Tenuta San Giorgio.

    Deze Bolgheri Superiore is gemaakt in de Super Toscaanse stijl: het is een droge rode blend van 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot en 15% Sangiovese. Hij omhult de tong met zoete, goed gevulde tannines, een opmerkelijke zuurgraad en krachtige fruitsmaken. Let op hints van rijpe pruimen en bloederig ijzer, samen met klassieke secundaire tonen van zoethout en groene kruiden. De afdronk is lang en overladen met mineraliteit. Combineer deze wijn met wild, oude kaas en vlezige stoofschotels.
